Unitus Impact

Shuyin is one of the pioneers of impact investing in Southeast Asia and passionate about developing the entrepreneurship sector in the region.  She currently leads Unitus Impact's investing activities for Vietnam and the Philippines, identifying and supporting scalable business which improve the livelihoods of the working poor. Prior to joining Unitus Impact, Shuyin was an Investment Manager for Southeast Asia at LGT Venture Philanthropy (LGT VP), a global impact investor which invests in strongly growing organizations with effective solutions to social and/or environmental challenges. She led LGT VP’s investment activities in the Mekong region and was also Head of LGT VP’s Accelerator Program across Asia, a program which offers hands on business consulting and customized financial support to outstanding, early-stage social ventures.

Previously Shuyin served as an Engagement Manager at TechnoServe, an international development consultancy whose mission is to bring “business solutions to poverty”. Based in Mumbai, she led the development of a large global donor’s rice strategy for India and Bangladesh, with the potential to impact millions of smallholder farmers across both countries.  Prior to joining TechnoServe, she spent 4 years at management consulting firm Bain & Company in Australia and India.  She has also worked in U.S. Congress and the Australian public service, as well as at The Lowy Institute for International Policy and UNICEF.

Shuyin was named one of Australia's "100 Women of Influence" by the Australian Financial Review in 2015.  She graduated summa cum laude from the Australian National University where she was also awarded the University Medal.
